There are always those who like moving forward and discovering new paths, running unknown risks and finding adventures. We all do that at a certain point in our careers and in most cases, we aren’t in the best circumstances.
But the truth is that those journeys are filled with unrepeatable lessons and experiences. With them we learn new things and discover new perspectives for what follows. It’s how we leave our mark in clients, teams and products. Taking risks is another way of leading change, innovating and creating disruption. The technological world is avid for people wanting to experience and leave their comfort zone.
Celfocus’ 18 years is filled with these types of stories, making us proud for our ability to innovate, solve complex problems and never give up.
Congratulations to us all!
And thank you to all who have helped build this journey.

As a consequence of our involvement in the Equinox Programme over the past two years and the successful migration of all consumer post-paid customers, Celfocus has been awarded three new projects Digital Evolution Agile Squad, Pay-G (Drop 1) and UFE Agile Squad at Vodafone Ireland.
Digital Evolution: Since May, Celfocus has integrated Vodafone Ireland’s Digital team (composed of 5 squats Ecommerce, Self-care, Propositions, APP and Celfocus Digital Squad) in order to enhance the Portal recently implemented under the Equinox programme. As part of the Digital team, Celfocus is technically supporting other squads and implementing transversal user stories in 2-week sprint cycles under Agile methodology.
Pay-G: This project is part of Vodafone’s strategy to include pre-paid customers in the Equinox Programme roadmap, Portal and UFE. Overall, the first phase of this project, minimum viable product, will enable Vodafone to migrate 1.6 million pre-paid customers from legacy systems to the new Equinox stack with no impact on its business, and then to decommission legacy system.
Already in progress, this phase of PAYG is scheduled to go-live in November.
UFE Agile Squad: Vodafone Ireland and Celfocus have set up an Agile Delivery Process and an Agile Team to deliver enhancements and new features such as new mobile enhancements (coming from production change requests or any other sources) to Vodafone Ireland’s UFE solution. Using Agile methodologies to support flexible and fast changes to the operator’s BAU needs, Celfocus will work in 2-week sprint cycles that may be defined according to priorities.
Celfocus has recently won the opportunity to start a new business journey at Vodafone Qatar, having been awarded a 2- year contract in the following business streams:
This conquest at Vodafone Qatar was a great challenge as Celfocus outranked a local vendor Qatari and Wipro, a major Indian IT company, it is also a brilliant opportunity to position our intellectual properties and experiences into an end to end digital project and expand our footprint over the middle east region.
Analytics 360 is an initiative created within the Analytics Business Unit in order to gather colleagues to discuss, discover and learn more about a specific technology, project, tool etc. of the Analytics world. Taking into consideration the interest shown and the importance of many of the subjects discussed, Analytics 360 was recently extended to everyone at Celfocus.
On October 30th, Maria Grave and Pedro Bruno Marques shared their knowledge of Qlik Sense, an exploration and visualization tool used by Vodafone Portugal, how it is being used in the different data visualization projects and what comes next.
As part of our brand awareness strategy and continuous team growth, Celfocus recently attended three key universities’ events.
In an initiative promoted by Universidade do Porto, we were once again at the “FINDE.U” international job fair. This event gathered over 2.000 visitors and 150 companies, where Celfocus team introduced our services, solutions and team spirit to visitors with different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
DevOps as a “means to achieve High Performance teams” was the topic addressed by Pedro Nogueira at bothUniversidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) and Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) IT events.
On October 20th, Celfocus celebrated its 18th anniversary. Turning 18 is, in most cultures, a coming of age, a step into adulthood, a new phase, a greater sense of responsibility.
The absurd amount of plastic used on a daily basis has become a major issue across the globe. Companies, from all industries, have implemented, changed and reinforced internal/external policies around plastic usage. Celfocus wanted be part of this movement and take matters into their hands (responsibility) and make small changes that will have a big impact.
To highlight this day and make a step in this movement, Celfocus gave all colleagues a personalized glass bottle and removed plastic cups from all office kitchens!
