The discomfort zone

Staying in our comfort zone for too long can simply mean lack of opportunities or external stimuli. Many times, that comfort zone becomes terribly boring.

Sometimes, especially troubling times, it allows us to reveal heroes – whose action is ephemeral, but highly valued. There are also times when there is an unexplainable desire to innovate and transform. Both situations, require us to take risks, assume pragmatic and bold attitudes. We must leave the comfort zone.

The comfort zone is naturally associated to thoughtful decisions, to processes and securities. Discomfort makes us run to instinct, learn to evaluate and recover from failure quickly.

Heroes and entrepreneurs must look at mistakes as the fairest way to get feedback. And thus, conquer a new comfort zone… lie on it until new stimuli requires action!

What makes a hero? - Matthew Winkler

What trials unite not only Harry Potter or Frodo Baggins but many of literature's most interesting heroes? And what do ordinary people have in common with these literary heroes? Matthew Winkler takes us step-by-step through the crucial events that make or break a hero.

Safaricom IoT Requirements

The IoT domain has changed our interaction and expectation of devices, taking experience to a whole new level. Operators across the globe have played a crucial role in this new era of – connected everything – by going beyond connectivity.

More recently, Safaricom too began their journey in this market by creating an IoT offer of their own and requesting Celfocus to create a solution that would allow new and existing Corporate and SME customers to manage their IoT devices.

The solution delivered in August enables a new IoT Subscription lifecycle in Siebel and reuses part of the existing integrations. By integrating CRM Systems with the IoT portal, customers are now able manage to IoT features on their portal. Having successfully implemented this solution, Safaricom has been able to launch their first use-case – The Speed Governor - which ultimately allows Kenya’s National Transport And Safety Authority to monitor as well as track vehicles in real time data.

eSIM for Apple Watch series 3 – goes live @ du

Apple watch series 3 provides users with the ability to pair watches with mobile devices via eSIM.An “eSIM" is an embedded SIM card, in which no physical SIM cards are involved and no physical swapping over is required! The impairment of apple watches with iPhones creates a fully integrated experience – allowing users to call and text their contacts without the need of a nearby phone. In order to take advantage of these features, the operator (du) must become a trusted partner of Apple, complying with brand requirements, processes and infrastructure/system integration demands.

Over the past year, Celfocus has worked closely with du in order to become a fully compliant operator that allows customers to activate, replace and deactivate eSIM services through du channels. After a successful delivery, du customers are now able to impair their equipment.

Celfocus on Instagram!

We recently challenged Celfocus ALL to take the brand wherever they go and capture their best - holiday, fun, music festival, travelling for work - moments.

Thanks to its success, we created an Instagram account to follow this journey under a common and consistent visual entity.

Complementing the brand awareness and social media content strategy, Instagram will share the life at Celfocus, following our people around the world as well as showcasing events, internal initiatives, fairs and more.
