It’s 9:07, and I just clicked the phishing link…

It’s early in the workday. You receive an email from a “colleague”:

“I think I may have clicked on a suspicious link. What should I do?”

No need to panic. No need to play detective. The most important thing is simple: speak up and act quickly.

Cybersecurity incidents are rarely handled within one team. Information Security may need to investigate, IT may need to contain the issue, Privacy may need to assess whether personal data is involved, and the business may need to keep critical operations running.

And this is exactly where collaboration becomes part of security. Incident response should not be treated as a separate activity owned by a separate team. It should be integrated across Celfocus. From preparation and detection, through response and recovery, with lessons learned feeding continuous improvement.

Security isn't just about having the right tools or processes. It's also about connecting the right people at the right time.

So, if something doesn't look right, don't wait until you're 100% sure it's an incident. Report it. Share what you know. Let the right people assess it.

Because the earlier we collaborate, the faster we can respond and the better we can protect ourselves.
