If “the ends don’t meet the means”, the lack of “means” cannot be a chronic excuse to the lack of results. Sometimes innovations come from challenges – getting through an exceptional difficulty – doing something incredible without knowing all the conditions to triumph. Art has many of these mysteries, and engineering does too.
Wanting to take the risk, receiving stimuli, looking for advantages, having stamina, discovering the purpose is something creatives need in their day-to-day… Not in everything being done, but in everything being experimented.
We shouldn’t organize our lives in a tightrope but sometimes this is the only way to step out of the box, of coming up with a process, with no blames or excuses, knowing we are doing something that requires tolerance from all.
Sometimes it’s because of it that we exceed and are surprised.
When a director like Steven Soderbergh makes a movie with an iPhone, you pay attention because it's certainly not for lack of resources. Soderbergh filmed the psychological horror movie Unsane starring Claire Foy entirely on an iPhone 7 Plus in 10 days.
During the last quarter of 2017, du awarded Celfocus with part of the du app revamp project, which falls under du’s “Go Digital” Programme. A programme that aims to digitally transform the operator.
This project, specifically, aimed to revamp du’s current mobile application in what concerns user experience and the addition of new features. The project focused in 3 main streams with different stakeholders and vendors:
In August, the new du app with new features and an improved user experience was released for Business acceptance tests (FUT) and as part of it, Celfocus successfully delivered into production a new set of APIs in Apigee platform and a new strategic digital layer in the operator’s ecosystem to manage communication between digital channels and du’s backend such as LDAP, Payment Gateway and EAI.
On September 14th, Celfocus’ Quality Assurance (QA) business unit gathered the team at Espelho D'Água, Lisbon, to share the QA Journey that intends on providing business and technical training to all.
Luís Ochôa, Head of Quality Assurance, presented the challenge and the market dynamics that has led the team to this journey and Liliana Anacleto Silva who thoroughly explained the training modules and expectations for the upcoming years.
The event was also filled with fun moments where some of our most talented colleagues showed their singing skills in a karaoke session and danced the night away.
