Call To Places — Nov 2021

From time to time, go out for an adventure

In our childhood, there were many opportunities to try new things and explore unique places: embark on the adventure of exploring unknowns, tackling fears. At that time, maybe it was a lot easier because of our undaunted attitude (in some cases, we remember that as a kind of madness)!

But what happened since then? Honestly, we got more conscious of the complexity of our limitations and fears came into play. It's fair!

Because we learn things by studying and practising - or by experiencing new things (some bad) - every journey can be told as a sequence of victories, along with some failures!

So... why not, from time to time, face your next unknown, as knowledge and experience and make it less dangerous?

Life is too short not to spend it pursuing passion.

October 2021

10G project at SIRO is LIVE.

With this first phase, the Service team has ensured that SIRO is the first Operator in Ireland to provide fiber broadband services above 1 Gigabit.

In Ireland, broadband users’ demand for speed and bandwidth has grown hugely in a few short years. In 2014, fixed broadband download speeds were on average 14 Mbps, by 2020 this had increased to 93 Mbps – an almost 6-fold increase, with this ‘need for speed’ is expected to accelerate further. This network upgrade, while facilitating the launch of 2 Gigabit broadband in the future, will also futureproof connected premises and enable them to access new start-of-the-art broadband services. The current upgrade is also underpinning the technology to support further increases in broadband speeds – up to 10 Gigabits soon.

Celfocus’ agile work in this Project as allowed the operator to bring the best broadband service to Irish homes.

Cebrating 21. Reconnected

On October 20th, Celfocus celebrated 21 in a truly hybrid way! Connecting all our people in Lisbon (Quinta da Pimenteira), Oporto (Quinta do Jordão) and remotely.

Our 21st Anniversary was focused on (re)connecting colleagues, dedicated to those who were new and hadn’t had the opportunity to meet their colleagues as well as for “not so new” colleagues who hadn’t seen their peers in almost two years. An opportunity to catch up, meet new faces and strengthen existing relationships.

This day, entirely dedicated to our people, started with a live transmission via YouTube at our very own and special The Loft (located at our facilities at Vodafone - 3rd floor), where we learned more about representatives of our sales, architecture, development, quality, people and leadership teams. Followed by a unique carpooling experience on the way to the event where we met some new, some not so new and some very popular people and discovered their hidden talents.

It was then time to truly reconnect, over 600 colleagues got together in Lisbon and Oporto for diverse team building activities and the celebration of what it means to be Celfocus!  For our colleagues who were unable to join the celebration physically, the event continued with an exciting online game on ZOOM.

Making this a truly hybrid event, the entire afternoon was live broadcasted on our Youtube channel, capturing the exciting moments taking place in Lisbon and Oporto.
