Call To Life — Dec 2019

Leaving a mark is a continuous act.

It is a consequence and not a desire. The roles we play in today’s world leads to more collaboration and less individualism. Even in more conceptual activities, others’ contribution in R&D, as inspirational or cocreation, is an essential condition to go global.

Being global, leaving a mark is leaving something that is thought-out, complete, built, functioning that distinguishes our journey in the places we pass through. And it only happens because we are sufficiently relevant (and sometimes even brilliant).

That sums up a life story, which may be this year, this decade or a journey. There isn’t sufficient memory for someone’s success without continuous success. Afterall, this is being alive!

Digital tatoos

What if Andy Warhol had it wrong, and instead of being famous for 15 minutes, we're only anonymous for that long?

Service Integration Gateway

In 2018, Vodafone awarded Celfocus with the delivery of SIG, Service Integration Gateway, for multiple local markets.

Vodafone used to deal with multiple applications, multiple technologies and multiple vendors, with high maintenance costs, low go-to-market, low reutilisation between Opcos. However, SIG came with a promise to address those problems.

SIG is a platform responsible for integrating and exposing the multiple Network elements providing a single platform, based on a single technology stack and open to multiple System Integrator to co-create in delivering new services.

During the first 6 months, Celfocus created the platform itself and by the end of this year 2019 the first 3 Opcos (Spain, Italy and Greece) will be live with the first services exposed to internal channels and external partners.

New onboardings are planned throughout 2020: Vodafone Germany, Hungary and Portugal, in parallel with an Agile approach that will take care of the evolution of the SIG platform with new features and new capabilities according to the Vodafone Group backlog.

In the long-term, SIG might have an important role with the 5G rollout, discussions are already on going - “The future is exciting”.

All Hands Events

All Hands Events are a moment to bring teams together to share knowledge, celebrate victories and enjoy each other’s company in a more relaxed environment.

During the past months, three of Celfocus’ projects (Vodafone Germany, Vodafone Portugal – Symbiotic, Vodafone Portugal – Digital) followed the tradition and gathered the teams in Porto, Lisbon and Óbidos.
